Viewjeon Co., Ltd. Holds Completion Ceremony for PDLC Plant No.1 in Jeungpyeong, Chungbuk

Viewjeon Co., Ltd. (CEO Hee-Young Yoon) held a completion ceremony on October 25 for its PDLC Film Plant No.1 in Jeungpyeong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea.
The ceremony was attended by approximately 75 distinguished guests and 25 employees, including CEO Taegyu Lee of Scale-Up Partners, CEO Yeohyun Baek of Korea Investment Accelerator, representatives from Muirwoods Ventures, YoonMinChang Foundation, YNArcher, A-Stone Ventures, and D.CAMP, as well as Jeungpyeong County Mayor Jaeyoung Lee, Deputy Head of Mission Thierry Santer of the Embassy of Luxembourg in Korea, and Vice President Alex Giorgetti of Félix Giorgetti.
Viewjeon invested KRW 10 billion to construct and commence operations at the new facility, built on a 5,033㎡ site with a total floor area of 1,154㎡. The Jeungpyeong Plant No.1 holds particular significance as it is the first in the world to fully automate both the cutting and electrode formation processes for PDLC film, establishing a foundation for stable mass production of high-quality PDLC film. The plant is expected to serve as a strategic foothold for expanding Viewjeon’s presence in the domestic and global PDLC markets.
Notably, the facility features a Class 100* cleanroom, minimizing defects caused by fine dust and enabling the production of premium-quality PDLC products. Given the nature of PDLC products—where microscopic dust or foreign particles can lead to defects and customer dissatisfaction—the implementation of a sterile operating room–level cleanroom and fully automated processes represents a significant step in strengthening Viewjeon’s global competitiveness.
What is a cleanroom? A cleanroom is a controlled environment where the concentration of airborne particles is regulated to minimize dust infiltration and generation. Class 100 indicates fewer than 100 particles of 0.5 micrometers or larger per cubic foot of air. Sterile operating rooms are typically maintained at Class 100 to 10 standards.
CEO Hee-Young Yoon stated, “With the completion of Jeungpyeong Plant No.1, Viewjeon has begun a new leap forward toward the future of PDLC technology,” adding, “We will pioneer a blue ocean in the PDLC market by applying our unprecedented film technology across diverse industries.” He further expressed the company’s vision of achieving a meaningful market share in the multi-billion-dollar global PDLC market and emphasized continued win-win growth with investors and partners.
In his congratulatory remarks, Mayor Jaeyoung Lee of Jeungpyeong County said, “We are very proud that Viewjeon, one of Korea’s leading startups, has established its factory in Jeungpyeong,” adding, “We expect Viewjeon to lead next-generation industries in the region and contribute to Jeungpyeong’s growth as a major industrial hub.”
Deputy Head of Mission Thierry Santer remarked, “Viewjeon has achieved remarkably rapid growth in a short period of time. By establishing a local subsidiary in Luxembourg for its European expansion, the company is advancing business not only with Giorgetti but also with two other prominent firms,” adding, “Luxembourg will continue to support Viewjeon’s growth in the European market from multiple angles.”
Founded in January 2022, Viewjeon is a smart window specialist. The company established its European branch in Luxembourg in 2023 and plans to officially supply PDLC film to a major global glass manufacturer in the second half of 2025. PDLC film can freely switch between transparent and opaque states and selectively reflects ultraviolet and infrared rays, significantly enhancing building energy efficiency as an innovative solution.
